How to make baby doll cribs
Take two cut pieces of plywood that are ¾-inch in size. Each of these needs to be measure around one by two feet. You can use surface-plywood for the making of baby doll cribs, instead of regular plywood. The surface of the surface- plywood is smoother than the regular plywood.
Cut one of the plywood pieces into half in order to make it one by one foot. The larger piece of the plywood will become your mattresses board, and the small one can be used as the headboard or footboard. Put some lines on it as per your measurements for the baby doll cribs. Start jointing the plywood pieces, with the help of the dowels and screws. Measure up three inches from every end of these shorter boards, as well as draw a straight line, which is around 3 inches and parallel from the other end.
Attach 2 angle brackets on the smaller boards, and place them below every line that you drew, positioning them on the opposite sides of a line. Larger board is fastened between both these boards, and hooked to an angle bracket. Position it in a way that top of this mattress board is level with a line.
Attach head and footboard to a mattress board, by using an angle bracket that you can connect it with the pieces. Drill holes all along the outer edges of a mattress board. Holes must be large enough for an end of the dowel to fit in, and they must be spaced each four inches. Do this on both the sides of a crib and frill 5 holes on both these sides. Don’t drill all a way through. The drill holes along ¾ inch molding, and large sufficient for other ends of a dowel to fit in. They must get spaced every four inches. Don’t drill all a way through molding just enough for a tip of every dowel to fit in closely.
Fit dowels in the mattress holes and molding. Add a bit of wood glue to every hole, prior to you attaching a dowel. After these dowels are safe, screw these ends of molding in the head and the footboard. That will ensure the sturdiness of your baby doll cribs.
Make your baby doll cribs pretty and safe
Once your cribs are completed, to ensure safety: vacuum out sawdust / make sure there are no sharp edges or metal parts that stick out, or parts that can be unscrewed and swallowed / sandpaper any rough surfaces / paint the wood, preferably two coats.
Now you can make up the baby doll cribs, using soft sheets, blankets and pillows.
